A Word on Evangelization
31st Sunday, Ordinary Time, November 3, 2024
Deacon Mike Meyer
This coming week, November 3-9 is National Vocation Awareness Week, and is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promoting vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are in Seminary or considering Seminary, all who are in religious orders and discerning their vocation, and for all the ordained deacons, priests, bishops, and religious who have answered yes to the call and entered the religious life.
This is a great opportunity for us to take some extra time for prayers for vocations and for vocational discernment. It is a great time to be thankful for all those who are ordained and have already answered the call and are living that out in parishes and religious communities. We promote vocations when we affirm our priests and religious and let them know how much we need them and appreciate them.
Lord Jesus, thank you for raising up vocations in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. We pray that you will continue to bless us with seminarians, deacons, priests and religious. We also ask you Lord to inspire us in fostering vocations through our life, our work, and our witness. Help us to be more and more Christ-like in our words and actions, and to become more and more active in our parish life and in our communities. Thank you, Lord also, for all those who have answered the call from our parishes here in Northwest Five, and we ask that you would continue to lead and bless them. We also pray for our four wonderful priests, that they will be filled with grace and zeal for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and our Catholic faith. May you continue to bless them as they lead us forward on our journey of faith. They are truly making a difference.
