From the Deacon’s Desk Reflection on Today’s Gospel Reading
Today is a good time to pray for marriages. For those of us who are married, we can offer our love and our concern for our spouses to God - asking for God’s help and grace in our relationship with our spouse. We can also make a point to pray for those who find their marriages difficult or are close to breakdown, and we can pray for those about to be married, giving thanks for the gifts we receive through the married love of others.
In the Gospel reading we are called to care for marriages and care for children. Let us lift up in prayer people that we know and are close to who have serious marital challenges in their spousal relationship or are dealing with difficult situations in regards to their children. Help us, Lord, to truly care for marriages, husbands and wives, and for the children in our society.
