St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Osgood, Ohio was founded in June of 1906 due to the Catholic families of Osgood submitting a petition to then Archbishop Henry Moeller. Prior to this, families had to attending mass in the surrounding parishes which was deemed dangerous due to bad roads. In September 1906, land which included a barn and 1.5 story house was purchased for the new church. The barn was used for a temporary church until construction was completed.
